Resource Sharing Design Challenge
College Design Thinking and Process Innovation Project, 2021
In my previous role as a student, I had the opportunity to work on developing a concept for a gym partner matching service as part of a class project. The problem I was aiming to solve was the challenge of finding a compatible gym partner, which is a common issue faced by gym-goers. After considering various options, I came up with a concept for a multifaceted gym partner matching service that would provide users with access to body composition data and a matching service to connect them with others in their area with similar body composition. Additionally, the app would include a tailored meal plan service based on users' fitness goals. This project allowed me to apply my skills in problem-solving and user-centered design to come up with a concept for a solution that addressed a common issue faced by gym-goers. The most challenging part of this project was ensuring that the concept and solution were easily understood by those outside of the fitness industry. To address this, I added a clear problem statement and further explanation of the first step in the process. Overall, this project provided me with valuable experience in the design process and the importance of considering the needs of users in creating effective solutions.
